Hold the insulated wire against the contact. Heat the wire and the contact. Apply solder. Continue heating until the solder flows indicating that the insulation has melted away and a good connection made. It is possible to make multipoint connections with the free end of wire still on a spool. Only when the last connection is made will it be necessary to cut the wire.
