Current State of the Art

Clients run Web browsers (Netscape)
Server programs written in CGI-BIN programs, or maybe using newer CGI-BIN replacement protocols such as NSAPI, ISAPI, etc.
Application developers use HTML forms to do window layout, specify CGI-BIN program to handle the input request.
